An audiometry test is a painless, non-invasive hearing test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds, pitches or frequencies. Ideal for industrial and construction sites with loud machinery, an audiometry test will determine if your employee’s hearing levels are damaged. At Safe Industries Group, we service businesses across Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Mid North Coast and Manning Valley.
Prolonged noise exposure at worksites can lead to a decrease in hearing ability over time. Regular testing can monitor any changes to hearing levels, allowing you to investigate the cause and determine whether corrective action is required.
The team from Safe Industries Group is fully trained and licensed to provide audiometry testing. We make sure to use certified audiometers and we recommend a testing schedule that includes an:
Our team will visit you onsite and conduct the test in a quiet room. We will firstly perform a maximum permissible ambient noise level test (NPANL) on the room to ensure that our findings are accurate and then proceed with the tests for your employees. Our audiologist will supply you with earphones that are connected to a machine that delivers different tones and sounds to your ears, one ear at a time. The audiologist will ask you to raise your hand when you hear a sound, recording the lowest possible volume that you were able to hear. Another test that can be conducted is speech discrimination, where you will be asked to repeat words you hear... these are just some of the tests that we can run to ensure your employees hearing is not adversely effected by their work environment.
A report will then be provided to you, detailing the results of the participant and whether further professional treatment or assessment is needed. To schedule in an audiometry test for your employees, give the team at
